Grand Bassa County Scholarship Foundation
The Grand Bassa County Scholarship Foundation USA (GBCSF) seeks to
empower students through technical and higher educations.
HISTORY
The Grand Bassa County Scholarship Foundation, USA (GBCSF) was formed in 2011 by citizens and
friends of Grand Bassa County, Liberia. The Foundation is a non-profit and non-political 501(c) (3)
organization registered in the USA and Liberia. The objectives are to grant scholarships and tuition
assistance to needy students of Grand Bassa County; and to build the capacity of teachers at Grand
Bassa Community College (GBCC) and Bassa High School via scholarships to graduate programs.
Presently the foundation has 40 students in undergraduate school and eight students in graduate
school.
Students granted scholarships to attend Cuttington and University of Liberia Graduate programs.

ACHIEVEMENTS
Since the formation of GBCSF in November 2011, the Foundation has sponsored over 100 students at the following schools:

Grand Bassa Community College 77 General and technical education
On January 21, 2017, the Foundation donated 4,271 new textbooks, valued at 1.5 million dollars and a 2010 Suzuki jeep to the Grand Bassa Community College. This vehicle is being used as a utility car for teachers. We also presented certificates of appreciation to 8 graduate students for successfully completing their graduate programs.
